One of the thoughts in the first essay I thought was interesting was VIII; "Nor did we foresee the weaponry and the war science that we marketed and taught to the world would become available, not just to recognized national governments, which posses so uncannily the power to legitimate large-scale violence, but also to "rouge nations," dissident or fanatical groups and individuals-whose violence, though never worse than that of nations, is judged by the nations to be illegitimate." It shows that our use of weaponry, even if used for a good cause by us once, will eventually end up in the hands of someone who wants to use it to harm us or others. Also, I thought it was true that the violence of "rouge nations" isn't worse than that of nations. IV was also an interesting thought because sometimes the free market is treated too highly/given too much power, which results in the destruction of the natural world.

  1. I totally agree that the weapons we have do end up in the wrong hands. It is scary to think of some of the weapons other countries may have and what they could do with them.

  2. I agree weapons do end up in the wrong hands, and like they say its not guns who kill people its people who kill people.

  3. I agree, weapons do usually end up in the wrong hands that they are not supposed to belong to because if only good people hold the guns we would all look like a much better country because there would be far less crime rate.
