In The Presence of Fear

I thought that the best passage was passage XVII that says, "In a time such as this, we have been seriously and most cruelly hurt by those who hate us, and when we must consider ourselves to be greatly threatened by those same people, it is hard to speak the ways of peace and to remember that Christ enjoined us to love our enemies, but this is no less necessary for being difficult." I liked this because his point of having war in order to end war is really what a lot of people believes needs to happen for peace. That is not true because no matter how much people hurt us or try to be our enemies we should still love them and not fight.

  1. I as well thought this was a good passage. I like how you said about the war. I agree with you about still trying to love them and not fight.

  2. I agree with you about not needing war to end war. It's just a never ending cycle.

    1. Your thoughts about needing a war to end a war is really good. I agree with Brittany Stone, it is a never ending cycle of wars. I think one day, just maybe war might come to an end but than again another one may just be started.

  3. I agree that most people believe that we need war to end war, which makes no sense to me. Why, in order to make peace, would you do the complete opposite by creating violence. I agree with Brittany that the cycle is never ending.
