Food Inc.

The most important thing that struck out to me in this film is how the companies do not care how the animals live and are treated, because all they care about is getting the most food and money from the animals. For example, in the movie they showed how they keep all of the cows confined in a barn, feed them corn, and let them stand and sleep in their manure. By feeding them corn it makes the cows get fat faster, and by letting the cows stand and sleep in their manure it results in spreading E. Coli and makes many people sick or even die. The most interesting quote to me was when they were talking about what is really in the foods and they said, "It is like lifting a veil from certain foods."

  1. Amanda, seeing how the animals are treated in these large processing plants really made me sad. I will certainly reconsider where I purchase my meats from in the future.

  2. Same here, I couldnt believe how they treated those poor animals, I mean I know that we have to get meat somewhere, but I really wished that they would treat the animals as if they were important and not just treat them bad and then slaughter them.

  3. That was probably one of the issues that I had a harder time with in the movie. Animals don't deserve to be treated so inhumanly even if we are going to most likely eat them. Seeing how they were treated makes me feel sick, but also it definitely changes where and if I will purchase meat from a store.

  5. Yes the unethical treatment of animals is a serious issue that is widely overlooked in this country. Sadly, this movie did not even portray the worst of the treatment to farm produced animals. I myself am not a vegan nor do I agree with some of the points that Mr. McCartney states, however this video certainly did change my views about eating the meat produced in this country if you can stomach it.
Fair Warning: not for the faint of heart
