Introduction to Samantha

My name is Samantha Spitzer and I currently just became a sophomore. I graduated from Marion Harding High School in 2011 and decided to attend Ohio State University at Marion to study business and medicine. I want to get my M.D. and major in business administration. One day I hope to own my own pediatrician office. Outside of school, I work forty hours a week. I am a manager at Arbys. I do not have spare time to do much of anything with school and work things get kind of crazy. When I do have free time, I love to drive and look at the scenery.
My favorite profile that we read for today was the first one. I like how the passage tells about the different codes and languages that the group of hobos used to communicate with each other. The writing that stuck out to me the most was the writing about the word hobo and where it originated from. I also like how the audience was told the difference between a bum and a hobo. The writing is my favorite because it helps the audience since a man of the lower class be proud of who he is and what life style he had become accustomed to over the years. The passage sends out a message to the audience that each individual should be proud of who they are and what they have accomplished so far in life!

  1. This was also my favorite passage! I think it is AWESOME that you want to have a pediatricians office. That was my second option but I was afraid I would become too attached to my patients so I chose teaching!! Good luck!

  2. I love to drive and look at scenery too, like you I don't have much of a free time though. I also enjoyed that passage and their since of community that they created. It is important that he took pride in who he was also.

  3. Like me you seem to have a full plate. I like driving and looking at the scenery, One of the more scenic drives that I have taken in the last two years was when we were on vacation and we drove through the Smokey Mountains National Park. We managed to get a picture on that day of a bear cub.
